Tonight's the Night

For all of you coming to Woof & Wine tonight, here is what you will be tasting. For those of you who are not coming, this is what you will be missing (but you can enjoy these wines at home sometime soon)

J. Lohr Cypress Chardonnay, Central Coast, CA, 2005
This wine is pale yellow in color with hints of peach, pear, grapefruit, nectarine, citrus and some vanilla. It's a nice medium chardonnay. You can pair it with seafood, grilled chicken and light to medium cheeses.

Trefethen Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, CA, 2003
This complex and luxurious wine has a deep, red color. There are hints of ripe berry, plum, cassis fruit, raspberry, clove, nutmeg and star anise. You can pair it with grilled steaks, ribs, and red- sauced pasta's.

Trefethen Chardonnay Napa Valley, CA, 2005
This is a scrumptious Chardonnay with a golden color. There are hints of apple, honey, peach, lemon, pineapple with a scent of toasted almonds. You can pair it with roasted chicken, grilled pork and grilled vegetables.

Trefethen Dry Riesling, Napa Valley, CA 2006
This is a very unique and noble white wine full of citrus, lemon, lime, and some white peach. A great wine to pair with many foods. including most Mexican food, turkey and pork.

Trefethen Merlot, Napa Valley CA 2003
This is a hearty, dark ruby red wine. There are hints of black cherry, plum with a little spiciness. A tasty example of a marvelous merlot. You can pair it with poultry, Bolognese pasta and Thai salads.

Lucien Albrecht Cremant Brut Rose NV - Alsace, France
100% Pinot Noir. Family owned winery since 1425. The flavors display nice strawberry and wild cherry fruit. It is balanced with dry, crisp acidity and complimented with a creamy texture and long finish.Pair it with cheese, cured meats, salads and mixed fruit.

Goldwater Sauvignon Blanc, 2006 - Marlborough, NZ.
Winemaker: Nikolai St. George. Pale straw gold in color. Intensely aromatic and fragrant aromas of honeyed lychee, straw and passionfruit with subtle crushed nettle smoothing the edges.Pair it with summer salads, light fish dishes and medium cheeses

Yering Station, Rose, Yarra Valley, Aus.
100% Pinot Noir. Winemaker: Tom Carson (Int'l Wine & Spirits Competition 2004 Winemaker of the Year). Delicate fruit flavor complimented with floral scents and soft, subtle tannins. Mouth-watering with a crisp, dry finish.Pair with turkey, chicken stir fry and mixed fruit

Angus the Bull Cabernet Sauvignon, Australia.
100% Cab. Dense sweet black fruits with rich dark chocolate and vanillin smoky oak aromas. Mixed with herbal spiciness and classic cabernet characters. This defines a "Big" Cab.Pair with lamb, steak and any other rich and heavy foods.

Broadbent 10 yr. Malmsey, Madiera Island, Portugal.
100% Malvasia. A sweet fortified wine. Striking nose of nuts, molasses and vanilla with toasted walnuts and caramel on the palate. Rounded, smooth, and balanced.Sip by itself or pair with chocolate, sweet fruits or a cigar!

Matua Valley, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand 2006
This is a gorgeous light yellow, crisp wine from New Zealand. It has hints of passionfruit, grapefruit, ripe citrus and a touch of lime. Just unscrew and enjoy! You can pair it with sushi, Thai food, cream-sauced pasta's and chicken salads.

Wild Horse Pinot Noir, Central Coast, CA, 2005
This is a medium, rose-colored wine with hints of blackberry, black cherry, plum, cinnamon and a touch of vanilla. Gidd-eee-up! You can pair it with salmon, chicken, lamb, medium cheeses and vegetable dishes.

Justin Savignon Blanc, Paso Robles, CA, 2006
This a gorgeous, crisp light yellow wine with hints of lemon, tropical fruits, fresh cut grass, pineapple and a little kiwi for kicks! You can pair it with grilled shellfish, summer vegetables, light cheeses, and salads.

Justin Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles, CA 2005
This is a deep red colored wine with hints of black cherry, plum, oak, spice, vanilla with hints of caramel and cedar. Yummy! You can pair it with steaks, grilled pork, strong cheeses, and beef stir fry.

These are all so good, I don't even know where to start!
