Woof & Wine

Every now and then we have a chance to really make a difference in the world. I get great satisfaction from writing and talking about wine but I'm always looking for ways to do even more good in this crazy world. One issue that is dear to my heart is helping animals.

Friends & family say that I care about animals more than I care about people, which might be true, but only certain people! And as far as animals go, Boxers are right up there on my list. Once you look into those soulful eyes and get your first Boxer kiss, you'll never be the same.

Boxers are amazing dogs (I know this because I fostered one and have several others in my life). They're fantastic with kids and never grow up themselves.

Unfortunately, many animals end up being homeless (don't get me started). Fortunately, Boxer Rescue LA has been taking in Boxers and finding them homes for the last 30 years. They do an amazing job with a volunteer crew and all of their funding coming from private donations.

So that got me to thinking. How can I combine two of my favorite things in life: wine and Boxers? (the dogs, not the undies!) Then it hit me, let's do a wine tasting to raise money for these amazing creatures. And why not add some fantastic auction items and throw in a cool dj to make it a big pool party! Viola, we have Woof & Wine!

Now all I need are some incredible people to come drink some wine with me. That's where you guys, my fabulous readers, come in. You must be a part of this and I want to meet you all. 100% of the proceeds of Woof & Wine go to Boxer Rescue LA (and it's tax deductible). Not to mention, you get to taste some of my favorite wines and party like a big dog.
